Puthoff, a junior guard from Hartford, S.D., had a strong week as she helped the Vikings gain a split in two league outings. Augustana fell 89-79 at Minnesota State, but rebounded with a 74-64 win over St.Cloud State in the Elmen Center’s Hall Sports Forum.

Puthoff scored over 20 points in both games, giving her seven 20-point games in 11 conference contests this season. She netted 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the loss at Minnesota State. She then recorded her first career double-double against St. Cloud State when she matched her season high with 25 points while collecting a career-high 10 rebounds. She was eight of 10 shooting from the field, including a 3-for-4 effort from 3-point range. She made all six of her free throw attempts.

For the week, Puthoff averaged 24 points, nine rebounds, 2.5 assists, and one steal per game. She shot 69.2 percent from the field (18 of 26) and 50 percent from 3-point range (6 of 12).

Puthoff is the fourth Augustana player to win the award this season. Whitney Hofer  was honored on November 19; Ashley Holiday was selected co-player of the week on December 3, and Molly Hayes was the choice on January 28.

Puthoff and the Vikings, who are in third place in the NCC standings, will conclude the regular season on Thursday with a trip to Vermillion, S.D., to take on NCC regular season champion South Dakota. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m. in the DakotaDome.
