Augustana Students To Study Abroad During Interim 2001
SIOUX FALLS - Forty-seven Augustana students will be studying abroad during the
January, 2001, Interim term.
The students are participating in the Upper Midwest Association for Intercultural
Education (UMAIE), a program offering unique opportunities for cross-cultural
study during the January term.
UMAIE is a consortium of 10 colleges and universities that cooperate to provide
the educational depth and resources necessary for an intercultural curriculum.
This year, UMAIE offers 32 courses in locations around the world.
Destinations include Africa, Argentina, Australia, Great Britain, the Caribbean,
Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Ecuador, Egypt, Greece, Hawaii, Ireland, Italy,
Japan, Jamaica, New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines, the South Pacific, Spain
and Western Europe.
In addition to Augustana, UMAIE members include Augsburg College, Bethel College,
Gustavus Adolphus College, Hamline University, Luther College, College of Saint
Benedict, Saint John's University, College of Saint Catherine, and the University
of Saint Thomas.
