Augustana College Fall Band Concert October 27

SIOUX FALLS - The Augustana College Fall Band Concert is Friday, October 27, at 7:30 p.m. in Jeschke Fine Arts Auditorium on the University of Sioux Falls campus.

The concert, which features the Augustana College/Community Concert Band and the Augustana Band, is free and open to the public.

The Augustana College/Community Concert Band features the combined effort of members of the community and Augustana College students. The performance includes:

• Finale from Symphony No. 2 by Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky
• Fantasy on "Yankee Doodle" by Mark Williams
• Shenandoah by Frank Ticheli

The Augustana Band is the premier wind and percussion ensemble at Augustana. Dr. Beverly Gibson, Augustana College professor of clarinet, will be the guest soloist. The band's performance includes:

• A Klezmer Tribute by arr. Eric Richards, Dr. Beverly Gibson, clarinet soloist
• The Melody Shop by Karl L. King
• Variations on a Shaker Melody by Aaron Copland
• Star Wars Trilogy by John Williams, arr. By Donald Hunsberger

The Augustana Band is under the direction of Dr. Bruce T. Ammann and the Augustana College/Community Band is under the joint direction of Dr. Ammann and Mr. Greg A. Handel.
