SIOUX FALLS - Augustana College wide receiver Matt Holmlund, Benson, Minn., has been named to the American Football Coaches Association 2000 Division II All-America team announced today.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound junior averaged 9.5 receptions a game to lead Division II for the 2000 season. He has set Augustana school records for touchdown receptions in a season (16), career touchdown receptions (28), receptions in a season (104), career receptions (222), receiving yards in a season (1,365), and career receiving yards (2,696).
Holmlund also owns three North Central Conference recordsÑreceptions in a season (77), career receptions (179), and touchdown receptions in a season (12).
Holmlund is one of three North Central Conference players selected to the team. The others are offensive lineman Ryan Burkholder from the University of Northern Colorado, and North Dakota State University running back Lamar Gordon.
