AUGUSTANA (2-0) is off until January 5 when it hosts Augsburg College in a dual

THE VIKINGS improved to 2-0 with a 28-21 win over Southwest State University
Thursday, December 7, in the Elmen Center.
On Tuesday, December 5, Augie opened its dual season with a 42-9 win over
Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.

THIS SEASON Augustana wrestlers have competed in three open meets.
At the Bison Open in Fargo, N.D., Charlie Swanson finished fourth at 125 pounds,
Seth Webster was the runner-up at 149, Todd Kirkpatrick placed fifth at 165, and
James Garvey took third place at 285. Wrestling unattached, Sam Kenton was sixth
at 197.
At the UNO open in Omaha, Neb., Swanson was fourth at 125, Kirkpatrick sixth at
165, and Garvey fourth at 285.
At the UNI open, Ryan Carlson was sixth at 141 and Garvey fourth at 285. Sam
Kenton, unattached, was sixth at 184.

AUGIE COACH Kraig Presler is in his 10th season as Augustana's head coach. Presler graduated from Augustana in 1984. He wrestled at 126 pounds for the Vikings, earning All-America honors in 1983 with a fifth-place finish in the nationals. Presler, a faculty member in Augustana's mathematics department, is assisted by Jason Reitmeier, who graduated from Augustana in 1996.
