AUGUSTANA VIKING WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

AUGUSTANA (1-0) is in action on Tuesday, November 21, when the Northern State Univesity Wolves invade the Elmen Center. Game time is 6:00 p.m.

COMING UP:

JUNIOR guard Tamera Oltmanns made seven of 13 shots from field, including a two-for-two effort from 3-point range, to compile 19 points and lead the Vikings past Dakota Wesleyan University, 75-54, November 19 in the Elmen Center. Oltmanns also registered nine rebounds, seven assists, three steals and two blocked shots.

Senior guard Nicole Tender added 18 points. She was six-for-12 from the field and four-for-seven from 3-point range.

Sophomore Charissa Sheppard, making her first collegiate start, had 17 rebounds, nine points, and blocked four shots.

Sophomore Nina Rozell came off the bench to add 10 rebounds, seven points, and blocked five shots.

VIKINGS STARTING LINEUP

DAVE KRAUTH is in his 12th season as the VikingsÕ head coach. He became Augustana's all-time winningest basketball coach during the 1996-97 season. He has compiled a 225-89 record. During his tenure Augustana has appeared in seven NCAA Division II region tournaments. Krauth was named North Central Conference Coach of the Year in 1990, and the South Dakota Sportswriters' College Coach of the Year in 1994. He posted a 347-143 record as a high school coach at Tri-Valley in South Dakota and Roosevelt in Des Moines, Iowa. Eight of his high school teams qualified for state tournaments. Krauth graduated from The University of Sioux Falls in 1974. He received his master's degree from South Dakota State University in 1983.

Assistant coach MIKE JEWETT graduated from Augustana in 1994. He is the first full-time assistant coach in women's basketball at Augie. He was the varsity girls basketball coach at Brandon Valley High School for three seasons.
