AUGUSTANA (2-0) is on the road for its next four games.
The Vikings play Wayne State College at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, in Wayne, Neb. Augie is in Crookston, Minn., on Monday, November 27, to battle the University of Minnesota-Crookston at 7:00 p.m.
COMING UP:
THE VIKINGS rallied from a 36-28 halftime deficit to defeat Northern State University, 73-55, Tuesday night in the Elmen Center.
Tamera Oltmanns and Nicole Tendler scored 16 points each to pace the Vikings' scoring. Tendler also had two steals.
Lonna Larson made five of six shots from the field, including all three of her 3-point attempts, to finish with 13 points.
Brittani Janssen and Tresse Klumper each had a dozen points. Klumper also had four assists and two steals.
Nina Rozell led the Vikings to a 52-49 advantage in rebounds with 11.
The Vikings shot 37 percent from the field to Northern's (0-3) 28 percent. Holly Schaunaman led the Wolves with 14 points.
VIKINGS STARTING LINEUP
DAVE KRAUTH is in his 12th season as the Vikings' head coach. He became Augustana's all-time winningest basketball coach during the 1996-97 season. He has compiled a 226-89 record. During his tenure Augustana has appeared in seven NCAA Division II region tournaments. Krauth was named North Central Conference Coach of the Year in 1990, and the South Dakota Sportswriters' College Coach of the Year in 1994. He posted a 347-143 record as a high school coach at Tri-Valley in South Dakota and Roosevelt in Des Moines, Iowa. Eight of his high school teams qualified for state tournaments. Krauth graduated from The University of Sioux Falls in 1974. He received his master's degree from South Dakota State University in 1983.
Assistant coach MIKE JEWETT graduated from Augustana in 1994. He is the first full-time assistant coach in women's basketball at Augie. He was the varsity girls basketball coach at Brandon Valley High School for three seasons.
