AUGUSTANA (23-2, 12-2 NCC) is at home this weekend with the North Central Conference title on the line. Augie and both its opponents share the league lead heading into the final two weeks of play.
The Vikings battle the University of Nebraska-Omaha (24-2, 12-2) on Friday, December 3.
The University of Northern Colorado (22-5, 12-2) is AugieÕs guest on Saturday, November 4.
Both matches start at 7:00 p.m. in the Elmen Center.
IN THEIR LATEST action, the Vikings lost at South Dakota State University (11-3, 24-3) 6-15, 15-8, 13-15, 12-15. SDSU got outstanding efforts from Shauna Sturm and Rose Ebnet with 34 and 31 kills, respectively. Sturm hit .433 and Ebnet .420.
Lori Fossum hit .459 with 21 kills to lead Augie. She also had two block assists. Lindsay Voss posted 20 kills along with 21 digs, three block assists, and a service ace. Katy Peterson had 13 kills, 17 digs, two service aces, and a block assist. Kari Peterson had 62 set assists, 23 digs, and three block assists. Tara Boeve had five block assists.
SENIOR OUTSIDE hitter Lindsay Voss has moved into second place in career kills at Augie with 1,439. She is third in digs with 1,399.
Katy Peterson now has 1,040 career kills, and Lori Fossum 1,014.
IN THE CONFERENCE : In the NCC team statistics, Augustana is No. 1 in hitting percentage (.297), kills per game(17.51), assists per game (15.37), service aces per game (1.93), and digs (20.23).
Individually, Lori Fossum is first in hitting percentage (.343), Kari Peterson is first in assists (14.28), and Katy Peterson is first in service aces (0.57).
AUGUSTANA has set a record for consecutive games won with 38. The previous mark of 16 was set a year ago.
AUGUSTANA is the recipient of the 1999-2000 American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award sponsored by Molten U.S.A. Inc. This award honors teams that have matched their dedication to the sport of volleyball with excellence in the classroom.

CAPTAINS for the 2000 team are Lindsay Voss, Lori Fossum, Jenny Ganahl, and Katy Peterson.
COACH KIM SUDBECK-MARCIL (152-42) is in her sixth season as the VikingsÕ head coach. She has guided the Vikings to two North Central Conference titles and four straight appearances in the NCAA Division II region playoffs. She was named NCC co-coach of the year in 1996 and 1997. She was a member of AugustanaÕs 1991 national championship softball team and was named to the Final Four All-Tournament Team. She served as assistant volleyball coach at Sioux Falls OÕGorman High School, South Dakota State University, and Morningside College before becoming AugieÕs head coach.
STEPHANIE RADECKI is in her first year as AugieÕs assistant coach and instructor in health, physical education, and recreation. A graduate of Edinboro University, Edinboro, Pa., she was a graduate assistant coach at the University of North Alabama before joining the Viking staff. She was named EdinboroÕs Senior Female Athlete of the Year for 1996-97. She was the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 1996, and was named to the all-conference first team for two years. She was chosen to the Atlantic Region Team for two years, and served as EdinboroÕs team captain. With Radecki in the lineup, Edinboro made four appearances in the PSAC playoffs, was the league champion in 1994, won two regional crowns, and made two appearances in the Elite Eight.
