SIOUX FALLS - A call for papers has been issued for the 33rd annual Dakota Conference on History, Literature, Art and Archaeology May 24-25, 2001.
The conference is presented by the Center for Western Studies and will be held at Augustana College. Topic submissions are due January 31, 2001. The best papers in amateur and professional categories receive cash awards.
Papers on all aspects of the history, literature, art, and archaeology of the Dakotas and Northern Plains are welcome. Papers addressing the theme of "Politics and Values of the Northern Plains" are especially welcome for the 2001 conference. Presenters are also encouraged to submit appropriate topics for sessions and to encourage friends and colleagues to join them in creating new and timely sessions.
Presenter name, address, paper title, a one-paragraph summary, and a one-paragraph presenter biography should be sent on a single page to the Dakota Conference, Center for Western Studies, Box 727, Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD, 57197, by January 31, 2001. No papers will be considered unless submitted in this one-page format. Program and registration material will be mailed in April, 2001.
A registration fee of $35 is due by May 11, 2001.
