Augustana College Association's Annual Meeting December 6

SIOUX FALLS - The Augustana College Association will hold its annual meeting on Friday, December 6, in conjunction with the college's Board of Regents winter meeting.

The Association consists of more than 900 congregations in South Dakota, Western Iowa, Southwestern Minnesota, and Nebraska synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and is the corporate owner of Augustana College. The Association is responsible for electing a nominating committee, and electing members to serve on the college's governing Board of Regents. Three positions on the Board will be filled.

In addition, delegates will hear Augustana President Bruce Halverson's “State of the College” address. Kristin Barnett, Augustana senior from Atlantic, Iowa, and president of the campus congregation, will speak on the meaning of an Augustana education. Nancy Halverson will give a presentation on children's theatre, and Augustana head football coach Jim Heinitz will discuss athletics at a college of the church.

Delegates will have the opportunity to view the Solberg art exhibit at the Center for Western Studies at Augustana and attend Augustana's Christmas Vespers.
