Lincoln High School's Tom Krueger earns coaching
award
SIOUX FALLS - Tom Krueger's coaching career
has been short but remarkably productive.
He has coached tennis at Sioux Falls Lincoln
High School for seven years, posting a 129-4
record. Three times he has been named Greater
Dakota Conference coach of the year. He was
also selected Lincoln's coach of the year.
Under Krueger's direction, Lincoln's girls have
won five consecutive state championships starting
in 1997. The Patriots' streak ties previous
title runs by Sioux Falls O'Gorman, 1992-1996
and 1976-1980. Lincoln was the state runner-up
once and captured four GDC crowns.
The string of championships and overall record
has earned Krueger the Ole Odney Award for
outstanding achievement in coaching by an Augustana
graduate.
Krueger played four seasons of tennis for Augie,
and in 1985 finished third at No. 1 singles
in the North Central Conference tournament.
He graduated in 1986.
Krueger and his wife, Nancy, are the parents
of Isaac and Anna. In addition to coaching,
Tom is the owner of the Third Day Berry & Herb
Farm.
