Children's Theatre Company Announces Fall Class Schedule

SIOUX FALLS - The Children's Theatre Company of Sioux Falls today announced its 2003 fall class schedule.

The classes, designed for young people, stress the process of creativity rather than performance. Classes are limited to 10 students and will be held on the campus of Augustana College.

Classes being offered are:

My Grown Up and Me (3_-5 years old)
Students participate with a grown-up of their choice. The focus of this class is spending time with your little one in creative play using music, movement, and storytelling techniques. September 6-October 18 (no class October 6), Saturdays from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Hey!…I'm acting (5-8 years old)
Everyone gets to be a star! Students will act out their favorite stories and create stories of their own. This is a great class for developing self-esteem and practicing collaboration. September 6-October 18 (no class October 6), Saturdays from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Make it Up! (Beginning improvisation, 9-13 years old)
Students will learn to “think on their feet.” Improvisation is a fun-to-learn and necessary acting skill. Learn the techniques of verbal and physical improvisation to develop characters, scenes and situations. September 11-October 30, Thursdays 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Musical Theatre (14-17 years old)
If you love to sing, dance and act, this class is for you! Students will learn to prepare and perform songs from popular musical shows. No experience or prior training is necessary to enjoy this fun-filled class. September 10-October 29, Wednesdays 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Beginning to End ­ Two-Minute plays (14-17 years old)
Come and join our two-minute play festival! Experience the excitement of setting your own words to paper and hearing them on the stage. In this fast paced class, students learn the basics of playwriting, leading to the creation of a mini-masterpiece performed on the last day of class for family and friends. September 11-October 30, Thursdays 4:00-5:00 p.m.
