Augustana Hosts Regents Scholarship Competition

SIOUX FALLS - More than 200 high school seniors from 12 states, including Maine and Washington, have been selected for the 10th annual Augustana College Regents Scholarship competition Sunday, February 23, and Sunday, March 2.

Twenty-five Sioux Falls students are among the 90 South Dakota students registered.

To qualify for the competition, graduating seniors must have a minimum ACT score of 27, ranked in the top 25 percent of the class, and maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average. There are 108 students registered for each of the weekend competitions.

Participating students will attend worship, attend a lecture by Dr. Joe Dondelinger of the Government and International Affairs Department, be interviewed by a faculty team, write an essay, and attend workshops on financial aid, campus life, and international study opportunities.

Among the scholarship awards, to be announced in March, are two full-tuition Regents Fellows Scholarships.

Augustana is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
