Rochester, Minn., Senior Receives Covenant Award for Excellence

SIOUX FALLS, SD - Keith Hartman, a senior from Rochester, Minn., is the recipient of the Covenant Award for Excellence.

The Augustana Covenant Awards, sponsored by Student Services, were established to reward students who exhibit the college's five fundamental values - Christian, Liberal Arts, Excellence, Community, and Service.

Hartman is majoring in chemistry and is a Dean's List student. He is included in the 2003 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

A member of the Augustana track team, Hartman will be competing Friday and Saturday, February 28 and March 1, at the North Central Conference indoor championships in Vermillion, S.D.

He has the Vikings' second fastest all-time indoor time for the 60-meter dash at 7.05 seconds, is fourth in the 55-meter dash at 6.48 seconds, and is sixth in the 200-meter dash at 22.74 seconds.

This season he was third in the 60-meter dash at the University of Northern Iowa Invitational, and fifth in the 60 at the University of South Dakota Pre-season Open.

Keith is the son of John and Marsha Hartman of Rochester.

Augustana is a liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
