Five Students Inducted Into French National Honor Society

SIOUX FALLS - Five Augustana College students were inducted today into Pi Delta Phi, the French National Honor Society.

The inductees are Andre D'Souza, a junior from Sioux Falls majoring in French and computer science; Christine Fossum, a junior from Vikhammer, Norway majoring in French and government/international affairs; Allison Girtz, a sophomore from Sauk Rapids, Minn., majoring in French and modern foreign languages; Cassie Robertson, a junior from Wyoming, Minn., majoring in French; and Pete Scholtz, a senior from Waverly, Iowa, majoring in French.

Established in 1925, Pi Delta Phi recognizes students' outstanding scholarship in French language and the literatures of the French-speaking world.

Augustana College's chapter, Mu Alpha, was established in 1997. The society's faculty advisor is Dr. Scott Fish, associate professor of French and chair of the Department of Modern Foreign Languages at Augustana.
