Deborah Hagemeier Named South Dakota Librarian of the Year

SIOUX FALLS, SD - Deborah Hagemeier, Technical Services Librarian at Augustana College's Mikkelsen Library, has been named South Dakota Librarian of the Year.

Hagemeier, who has been working at Mikkelsen Library since 1985, was honored at the South Dakota Library Association's annual meeting. She was recognized for her vision of what libraries can and should be, for her passion to provide excellent library services to all South Dakota users, for her generous support of her fellow librarians, and for her willingness to see that things are accomplished within the library community regardless of who gets the credit.

A native of Sioux Center, Iowa, Hagemeier earned a B.A. in biology at Northwestern College (Orange City, IA) and a master's degree in library science at the University of Iowa.

Deborah and her husband, David, are the parents of two children, Jason and Jessica.
