Augustana's Enrollment Continues Upward Trend

SIOUX FALLS - Augustana College's enrollment has increased for the sixth consecutive year.

Figures released today by the Registrar's Office show a total of 1,848 students have enrolled compared to 1,834 at the same time a year ago.

The number of full-time undergraduates is 1,686 compared to 1,665 in the fall of 2002. The College has registered 423 freshmen, compared to 417 a year ago. Numbers have also increased in the sophomore and senior classes.

In August, Augustana was ranked 10th among Midwestern Comprehensive Colleges-Bachelor's by U.S. News in its Best Colleges 2004 rankings. It's the ninth time since 1994 Augustana has been ranked.
