Eight Juniors Receive Christopherson Scholarships
SIOUX FALLS, SD - Eight Augustana College juniors have been awarded
Fred C. and J. Marie Christopherson Scholarships for the 2004-2005
academic year.
The Augustana Faculty Scholarship and Awards Committee made the
selections on the basis of scholarship, campus/community service,
and how well the nominee fit the description of the donors as someone "equipped
for life."
Fred C. Christopherson, who died in 1989, was the editor of the
Sioux Falls Argus Leader for 31 years. J. Marie Christopherson also
died in 1989. Her column, "Driftwood," appeared in the Argus Leader
for 20 years.
The 2004-2005 recipients are:
Louisa Anderson, Plymouth, Minn. Louisa is majoring in biology
and secondary education. She is the daughter of Teresa and Richard
Anderson.
Amanda Conrad, Canton, S.D. Amanda is a theatre and communication/business
major. She is the daughter of Georgia and Charles Conrad.
Sarah Foulks, Ponca, Neb. Sarah is a deaf education/special education
major. She is the daughter of Beth and Caleb Foulks.
Kellie Furman, Britton, S.D. Kellie is majoring in sociology.
She is the daughter of Caroline and Dwayne Furman.
Nicholas Kuhlman, Saint James, Minn. Nicholas is majoring in
chemistry and English. He is the son of Rhonda and Douglas Kuhlman.
Tod Lacey, Trent, S.D. Todd is majoring in religion and business
administration.
Angie Mattke, Spicer, Minn. Angie is a biology major. She is
the daughter of Connie and Preston Mattke.
Brian Rekken, Fergus Falls, Minn. Brian is majoring in chemistry.
He is the son of Charlotte and Steven Rekken.
