Artists of the Plains Art Show & Sale February 20-22
SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Center for Western Studies at Augustana
College presents the 24th annual Artists of the Plains Art Show & Sale
February 20-22 at the Radisson Encore Hotel. Admission to the show
and sale is free and open to the public.
The premier showing and reception opens at 7:00 p.m. and runs
until 10:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20. An awards program begins
at 8:00 p.m.
The event continues Saturday, February 21, from 10:00 a.m. to
6:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Radisson Encore Hotel is located at 41st Street and I-29 in
Sioux Falls.
Bids for selected items in a silent auction will be accepted
until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22.
Among the contemporary artists invited are Marian Henjum, Arnold
Bortnem, JoAnne Bird, Mark Anderson, Russ Duerksen, Bryan Bortnem,
Charles McLaughlin, James Whartman, Virginia Coudron, Dale Streblow,
Nancyjane Huehl, Joshua Spies, Johnny Swatek, Donald Montileaux,
Harvey Rattey, Gisele Robinson, Raymond Wattenhofer, Mike Sougstad.
The Center for Western Studies is dedicated to preserving and
interpreting the history and cultures of the Northern Plains and
serves as a repository for more than 200 archival collections and
maintains a library in excess of 35,000 volumes on the American
West. With more than 60 publications to its credit, CWS is also
the largest academic publisher in South Dakota.
