Brass Choir to Play At Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church

SIOUX FALLS - The Augustana College Brass Choir will participate in the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. services at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Rapid City, S.D., on Sunday, February 8.

Augustana students Christi Hansen and Kelli Johnson from Rapid City are members of the Brass Choir.

Hansen, a senior majoring in biology and French, is the daughter of Gary and Carmen Hansen. Johnson, a freshman majoring in business administration and Spanish, is the daughter of Dave and Wendi Johnson.

Each school year, during the spring semester, the Augustana Brass Choir plays at the home churches of its senior members.

The Augustana Brass Choir began as a fully organized ensemble of the Music Department in 1965. Brass ensembles at Augustana actively contribute to the campus community and the city community as well, both in a purely musical sense and as assistance for religious activities.
