Ryan Larsen Named Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

SIOUX FALLS - After a short stint as the assistant coach at Jamestown College, Ryan Larsen has returned to Augustana where he has been appointed assistant to head coach Tom Billeter.

Larsen was a graduate assistant coach at Augustana for the last two seasons, leaving for Jamestown after the 2003-2004 campaign. At Augie he succeeds Jeff Trumbauer, who recently was named the head coach at Jamestown.

Larsen came to Augustana from Minnesota State University, Moorhead where he spent three years helping to rebuild the Dragon men's basketball program. He was a full-time second assistant during the 2001-2002 season and served as a student assistant from 1999-2000.

Prior to Moorhead, Larsen was a student assistant at Black Hills State University from 1996-1999. During his three years at BHSU he was a part of three consecutive NAIA national tournament teams. During that span the Yellow Jackets made two Elite Eight appearances.

A native of Spearfish, S.D., Larsen graduated from Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls, Minn. He received a bachelor's degree in secondary education from MSU, Moorhead.
