Drommerhausen Appointed Assistant Director of College Relations
SIOUX FALLS - Emily Drommerhausen, who graduated from Augustana College in May, 2004, has been appointed Assistant Director of College Relations.
"Emily is excited to join us, and I am very much looking forward to having her with us," said Brad Heegel, Director of College Relations.
"Augustana made an impression on my life in a way I will never be able to describe," Drommerhausen said. "As an alum, I am eager to use this career opportunity to share the advantages of the Augustana education I received with the greater community."
Drommerhausen majored in elementary education with a minor in theatre and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was a student teacher at Laura Wilder Elementary School in Sioux Falls this spring. During the summer of 2003 she served as an assistant to the Director of Marketing and Public Events at Augustana.
She has worked extensively with The Children's Theatre Company of Sioux Falls creating web pages, managing rehearsals and production meetings, mentoring interns, and developing corresponding curriculum for classroom use.
As a student at Augustana, Drommerhausen was active in theatre, Collegiate Chorale, Women's Choir, and Opera Theatre. She was the stage manager for Viking Varieties in 2002, and co-chaired the production in 2003. She was a Dean's List student and a member of Blue Key Senior Honor Society. She was the recipient of an Augustana Regents Scholarship, an Augustana Theatre Scholarship, and a Teacher Federal Credit Union Scholarship. She was a nominee for the Covenant Award for Excellence at Augustana in 2004, and was listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for 2003-2004.
In 2003 she received the Kennedy Center's Meritorious Achievement Award for Stage Management.
Her volunteer involvements included the Augustana Theatre Company Mentor Program, Augustana Reads, Habitat for Humanity, and Augustana's Community Service Day.
