Williamson Appointed Director of Current Giving

SIOUX FALLS - Stephen Williamson, Assistant Director of Admission at Augustana since 1999, has been appointed Director of Current Giving. He begins his new duties August 1.

"I thank Stephen for his wonderful efforts and success in our Admission Office and welcome him into the world of college advancement," said Brian MacGregor, Vice President for College Advancement. "He will help us focus our energy and bring creativity to expand our current giving efforts."

Williamson's responsibilities include the Annual Fund and the Fellows. He will also assist the Booster Club and the Auxiliary.

"Working at Augustana in the Office of Admission has been a blessing in my life," Williamson said. "I look forward to the challenge and opportunity to being Director of Current Giving. I plan to take it one day at a time and, God willing, we will be successful for Augustana College, the best school in South Dakota."

Williamson graduated from Riggs High School in Pierre, S.D., in 1987, and from the University of South Dakota in 1991. He earned a master's degree in history at USD in 2000.

During his undergraduate years he competed in track for the Coyotes, earning All-America recognition as a quarter-miler in 1991.

After graduating from USD, he worked as an admission representative at Augustana from 1991 to 1993.
