Augustana Band to Perform on East Coast

SIOUX FALLS - The Augustana Band, directed by Dr. Bruce T. Ammann, will perform in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C., during its January 2005 Interim Tour.

The band's repertoire is a feast of great musical literature featuring senior soloist Rachel Phillipich from Cedaredge, Colo., on oboe, and the Brass Choir, under the direction of Dr. Paul Schilf.

The tour begins January 31 with a 7:30 p.m. concert at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Huntington Station, N.Y. The finale concert begins at 7:30 p.m. February 5 in Constitutional Hall in Washington, D.C.

Constitutional Hall, a registered national historic landmark, was designed by prominent architect, John Russell Pope. The building houses the largest auditorium in the District and was finished in 1929. More than 600,000 people pass through the doors each year.

The home concert begins at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls. Admission is $10 for adults, and $5 for students and seniors.

• Monday, January 31 - 7:30 p.m. concert at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Huntington Station, NY.
• Tuesday, February 1 - 7:30 p.m. joint concert with the South Brunswick High School Band, South Brunswick High School, Monmouth Junction, NJ.
• Wednesday, February 2 - 7:30 p.m. concert with the College of New Jersey and the Eastern Wind Symphony, The College of New Jersey, Ewing, NJ.
• Friday, February 4 - 7:30 p.m. concert, Chapel of the Lutheran School of Theology, Gettysburg, PA.
• Saturday, February 5 - Finale Concert, 7:30 p.m. Constitutional Hall, Washington, DC.
• Sunday, February 13 - Home concert, 3:00 p.m. Washington Pavilion, Sioux Falls, SD.
