Women Advance in Conference Tournament

SIOUX FALLS – Augustana extended its home court winning streak to 20 games Tuesday night with a 101-95 overtime decision against Nebraska-Omaha in the first round of the Wells Fargo North Central Conference playoffs.

Alison Adamson (Willmar, MN) scored a career-high 29 points, including 18 in the first half to pace five Augustana players in double figures. The Vikings made 45 of 53 free throws, establishing single-game school records in both categories.

The Vikings, ranked 23rd in NCAA Division II, are 22-8 for the season. In the overtime period Augie made both of its field goal attempts and went 12-for-12 from the free throw line. Lindsey Fischbach (Carroll, IA) and Erin Johnson (Northfield, MN) had 18 points each, while Katie Krauth (Hartford, SD) finished with 16. Angela Seefeldt (Clark, SD) was the fifth Viking to crack double figures with 14.

Augustana advances to Friday’s semifinals in Grand Forks, N.D., where it will play the University of South Dakota. Tip-off is at 8:00 p.m. Augie is the No. 3 seed and USD No. 7. North Dakota, the No. 1 seed, plays third-seeded St. Cloud State at 6:00 p.m.
