Eight Augustana Students Receive Christopherson Scholarships
SIOUX FALLS – Eight Augustana College students have been awarded Fred C. and J. Marie Christopherson Scholarships for the 2005-2006 academic year.
The Augustana Faculty Scholarship and Awards Committee made the selections on the basis of scholarship, campus/community service, and how well the nominee fit the description of the donors as someone “equipped for life.”
Fred C. Christopherson was the editor of the Argus Leader for 31 years. His wife, J. Marie Christopherson, authored the “Driftwood” column that appeared in the Argus Leader for 20 years. The Christophersons both died in 1989.
The 2005-2006 recipients are:
Aaron Graumann, Sioux Falls, SD. Aaron is majoring in chemistry and Spanish. He is the son of Paul and Patricia Graumann.
Pam Haan, Lennox, SD. Pam is majoring in English and secondary education. She is the daughter of Vera and Kerwin Haan.
Angela Hayes, Aberdeen, SD. Angela is a chemistry major. She is the daughter of Nancy Hayes.
Annmarie Kowalczyk, Ypsilanti, MI. Annmarie is majoring in history and deaf education. She is the daughter of Brigid Kowalczyk and John Kowalczyk.
Matt McDougall, Volga, SD. Matt is a biology major. He is the son of the late Carolyn McDougall.
Jeff Misialek, Grand Forks, ND. Jeff is majoring in biology. He is the son of Debra and Mark Misialek.
Carla Wormington, Harrisburg, SD. Carla is majoring in journalism.
Cara Wynia, Luverne, MN. Cara is a biology major. She is the daughter of Debra and Merlin Wynia.
