Augustana Band Scholarship Concert at Pavilion April 5

SIOUX FALLS – The Augustana College Band Scholarship Concert is Tuesday, April 5, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Washington Pavilion Great Hall.

The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will donation will be accepted for the Augustana College Band Scholarship Fund.

This concert features the Augustana College/Community Concert Band. Now in its 16th season, the 100-member ensemble will be performing new and traditional literature for the wind band. One of the featured selections is the world premier of a new work for wind band by Jeremy Hegg, who graduated from Augustana in 1994.

The Augustana College/Community Concert Band is under the direction of Dr. Paul R. Schilf.
Selections for the April 5 concert include:

Three Dorset Songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams

Also featured is the Augustana Band under the direction of Dr. Bruce T. Ammann. This ensemble is the premier wind and percussion organization at Augustana College. The guest conductor for this concert is Mr. Donald Wilcox, director of bands at West Virginia University. Augustana senior Bethany Amundson, a music education major from Richfield, Minn., is the featured trumpet soloist.
