Augustana Student Association Officers Installed for 2005-06

SIOUX FALLS – The inauguration of Augustana Student Association (ASA) officers for the 2005-2006 school year was held today in the Chapel of Reconciliation.

A.J. Franken was installed as president and Bethany Rasmussen as vice president. Augustana College President Bruce Halverson presided.

ASA is the student government of Augustana College. ASA works in cooperation with the administration, faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees of the College to confront issues ranging from academic accreditation to buildings and grounds.

ASA runs an annual budget of more than $175,000 and oversees several programming arms including Concert and Lecture, the Union Board of Governors, New Student Orientation, and Viking Days.

Franken, a junior from Watertown, S.D., is majoring in government/international affairs and business administration. He is the son of Lesa and Thomas Franken.

Rasmussen, a sophomore from Hurley, S.D., is majoring in government/international affairs. She is the daughter of Nancy and Mark Rasmussen.

Augustana is a liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
