Senior Earns Study Abroad Grant From National Honor Society
Senior Jennifer Kvigne, a Spanish and education major from Wagner, South Dakota, has been named a recipient of an Undergraduate Study Abroad Award from Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society.
Kvigne's award will cover four weeks of study in July at the Estudio Internacional Sampere (EIS) in Cuenca, Ecuador.
Following her time in Ecuador, Kvigne will return to the U.S. to begin her teaching career.
"I have a job teaching high school Spanish in Rock Valley, Iowa," she said. "In the future, I can see myself possibly going back to school to pursue a master's or doctorate in the field. For now, I'm excited to be in my own classroom where I'll have the opportunity to teach all levels of Spanish."
She is the first Augustana student to receive an award from Sigma Delta Pi and is one of only 19 students nationwide to be selected for the Undergraduate Study Abroad Award.
