In honor of Women's History Month, the Diversity and Inclusion Office, It's On Us, and the AU Office of Violence Prevention will offer a series of events on campus:

Monday, March 19: The Hookup — Join us for an engaging discussion that pulls back the covers on 'hooking up,' clarifying when it’s actually sexual violence and how bystanders can protect potential victims from predators.

Thursday, March 22: Influential Women Leaders of Today — Join us for a panel discussion with community advocates, business owners, attorneys and educators. The purpose of this panel is to commemorate the lives and exceptional work of these great women and how they came to where they are today. Panelists are: Taneeza Islam, immigration attorney and executive director of South Dakota Voices of Peace; Sarah Krekelberg , community advocate for the Compass Center; Inkka Beaudio, business entrepreneur and community advocate; and Rev. Maria Acosta, pastor for Pueblo de Dios. You'll come away with a sense of empowerment and inspiration to pursue your dreams through the panelists' fantastic stories and accomplishments.

Tuesday, March 27: Personal Protection — Learn techniques to protect yourself in case of an emergency and gain valuable information and tools to empower you to seek help when needed.The course will also outline what resources are available on campus as well as within the community.

Thursday, March 29: Playing Unfair —  Join us for a discussion on the media's coverage of female athletes.
