Augustana graduate Maddie Todd earns a golden ticket for "American Idol"

Singer-songwriter Maddie Todd, Augustana University Class of 2017, has advanced in the "American Idol" audition process.

After her initial audition earlier this month in Fargo, North Dakota, the 23-year-old religion and sociology major was invited to a private audition in Los Angeles. There, she was selected to advance to the next round of auditions before celebrity judges.

Todd, who serves as an assistant logistics coordinator for Augustana University, visited with Argus Leader reporter Danielle Ferguson about her "American Idol" journey so far.
