Faculty Development Grant Proposal
1. Student Learning Assessment
| Program Strategy |
1b. Three department development grants (competitive) across
the life of the grant. We expect 4 serious proposals each year; yielding
two grants/year. |
| Evaluation Activities |
The RFP for the department development grants will require the proposer
to provide a process of evaluation for her/his project. Minimum requirements
for proposal acceptance will be project evaluation plans that specifically
examine the impact of the project on student learning. The impact of the
grants will be measured by looking at the ways the grant changed the department's
assessment program, its regular assessment reports, and the actions taken
based upon the results of the assessment data generated. |
| Specific Intended Outcomes |
This goal will have been met when:
1. The selected departments move to a higher level on the Higher
Learning Commission's Levels of Implementation.
2. Departments receiving grants share their progress with the community
and serve as mentors to other departments.
3. The progress generated with 1A and 1B help foster a campus wide culture
of assessment.
