2c. Projects that examine the relationship between student learning and pedagogy

Program Strategy

2c. Across the life of this project, the college will generate 2-3 projects that examine the relationship between student learning and pedagogy. We expect to recruit faculty teams of different styles of teaching, including current and previous nominees and recipients of the Niebuhr, Lofthus, Kohlmeyer, and similar [teaching] awards.

Evaluation Activities

Each project leader will develop appropriate baseline and appropriate "after-treatment" measures along with appropriate (and available) external measures for his or her project.

Specific Intended Outcomes

This goal will have been met when:

1. The College has established a closer relationship between teaching pedagogy and student learning.

2. Faculty have been given the opportunity to explore alternate pedagogies.

3. Grant recipients share their findings through colloquia and mentor programs.
