Program Strategy

2e. Projects that explore the way students learn from general education (pedagogy, student learning outcomes.) We expect one project per year involving 3 or more faculty in a particular area of Gen Ed (e.g. 3.1), and at least 100 students in Gen Ed courses.

Evaluation Activities

Each project leader will develop appropriate baseline and appropriate "after-treatment" measures along with appropriate (and available) external measures for his or her project.

Specific Intended Outcomes

This goal will have been met when:

1. Three areas of general education are assessed and improvements implemented.

2. The relationship between general education and the academic major is more clearly articulated (criteria: compatibility with the mission of the college, ability to complete within four years, g.e. and major are complementary, not competitive).
