What is Confirmation?
Confirmation
is the
affirmation of one’s baptism. During the confirmation years, students
will
prepare themselves to make the following promises to God:
- To continue the covenant God
made in Holy baptism
- To
live among God’s faithful
people
- To
hear his word and share in
his supper
- To proclaim the good news of
God in Christ through word and deed
- To
serve
all people following the example of our Lord
Jesus
The
confirmation ministry is a three year process that starts in the 7th
grade. The first two years focus on basic Lutheran teachings and the
Bible. The
third year seeks to develop a strong sense of faith and community.
