We, the members of the South Dakota Synod of the ELCA, are people baptized in the name of Jesus Christ who gather in worshipping communities and work on the road of life together so that

we may welcome others into a living relationship with Christ,

we may nurture the faith of the members, and

we may serve in Christ's love to those in need.

The South Dakota Synod is one of the 65 synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, a church so deeply and confidently rooted in the Gospel of the God's grace that we are free to give our lives joyfully in witness and service.
