Family Connection

Prayer concerns:

Safety in travel for our guests.
Comfort for the families in their loss.
Prayers for guidance for decisions that are made regarding the project.
Prayers that we will be able to network the project throughout the state in the next year.
Prayers for financial support of the project.
Prayers that those we serve will see Jesus through this ministry.
Prayers for individuals to serve in this ministry who can help us to make the project stronger through volunteering on committees, in the house and on the board of directors.
Protection for those who volunteer and serve the guests.

Volunteer needs on committees:

Public Relations assistance and networking
Fund raising expertise and ideas
Maintenance committee members
Operations committee members
Grant writing help
Accounting and financial expertise

Volunteer needs

"Guardian Angel Program": This is a program of providing evening, nighttime, and weekend volunteers in the house so that our guests will feel safe that someone is there with them in the house.

We ask that an organization or group commit to one day or more per month that someone from their organization will cover the hours needed consistently. We prefer two volunteers in the house at one time. The director could provide a group orientation or come and do a program on this subject. Because we serve only women and children at this time, we ask that men be accompanied by a woman volunteer (Like a husband and wife team).

Baked goods are needed especially on weekends for the guests to nibble like cookies, rolls or bars. These can be brought and frozen.

Periodic maintenance and repairs are needed. A volunteer who is "handy" would be appreciated.

Newsletter publication four times per year assistance

Daytime volunteers to answer phones, greet guests,etc.

Bi-weekly cleaning crews to clean at the house or do laundry

Summer children's program volunteers
