The 2011 SDWLA Annual Conference took place on Friday September 30 and Saturday October 1 at the Spearfish Convention Center in Spearfish, South Dakota. Check back again for photos from the event and for information on the 2012 conference.

2011 SDWLA Teacher of the Year
Congratulations Teresa Piper who was selected as the SDWLA 2011 Teacher of the Year! Ms. Piper, who is an instructor of Spanish at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, was recognized for her enthusiams and effectiveness in teaching, her efforts in curricular reform as USD and the development of the Spanish tutor program, her commmitment to diversity through the promotion of Mexican folkloric dance, and her support for the World Languages Community through her involvement in the SDWLA.
