Something New in 2008! As the name implies, The Synod Scene Summary summarizes some of the key ideas and events from, primarily, that month’s Synod Scene, for congregations to use as they deem best in their communications.

Ministry of the Month

The 2003 South Dakota Synod Assembly passed a schedule of monthly ministries to begin in 2004, a schedule which continues to this day. The purpose of these monthly emphases is to encourage designated giving by congregations above and beyond regular offerings. We hope that congregations will seize the opportunity to recognize these partnerships in the prayers of the church during these months, and to hold up these ministries through various activities.
