SOUPER BOWEL SUNDAY: Next Sunday, Feb. 7th Trinity will again participate in Souper Bowl Sunday. Members are encouraged to bring a can of soup for $1 (or more) to drop in the soup kettles. The cans of soup will be donated to the local food pantry and the money raised will be sent to the ELCA World Hunger Appeal. This year Souper Bowl celebrates 20 years of caring. Souper Bowl of Caring began in 1990 when one youth group concerned about the hungry challenged youth (and adults) to donate a can of soup or $1 on a day when millions was being spent on Super Bowl parties. In 20 years more than $60 million has been raised for food banks, soup kitchens and other charities across the country. Last year alone $10.2 million was raised to fight hunger and poverty across our nation and throughout our world.
