Daily Campus Update — March 30

Augustana University is closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation. As of Monday, March 30, here are the latest things to know:

  • Global and Local Outlook: As of Monday, March 30, the South Dakota Department of Health (SD-DOH) has reported 101 cases of COVID-19. Twenty-eight cases have been reported in Minnehaha County and four in Lincoln County with community spread.
  • Financial Implications for Students: Executive Vice President & CFO Shannan Nelson sent a message to students and parents last week outlining the details related to housing, dining and parking rebates. Students will be able to see the rebate applied to their account through the student portal (login required) by Thursday, April 9. Students will have the option to request a refund or apply the rebate as a credit to their account for next semester. Read the full message.
  • Example of Goodness: We all need to be reminded that even amidst a pandemic, goodness is happening all around us. In the days and weeks ahead, when you see or hear of neighbor helping neighbor, staff, faculty or students going above and beyond to help someone, small gestures of kindness that you want to share, please send them to Pamela Miller. Pam will collect stories and periodically share them in our newsletter.
  • Dining and Starbucks Hours: To help assist staff and students who remain on campus, Starbucks @ Siverson is now open from 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. You will find updated Dining Service hours at augie.edu/hours.

Should you have any questions regarding the coronavirus or need to update the risk-assessment team on campus-related matters or events, please send a message to news@augie.edu. Please continue to check for updates and more information on the Augustana coronavirus webpage at augie.edu/coronavirus.
