Augustana updates its babysitting list within the first 2 weeks of each semester, including interim and summer. This is a list of students that are interested in babysitting along with their available schedule for the semester. Augustana does not collect references on these students. A parent is required to pick the list up in person or send in a self-addressed stamped envelope to receive a copy. Research: The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will be filling up to 3 student intern positions to assist with mussell surveys, monitoring, and endangered species propagation and reintroduction. The position will be based in St. Paul, MN, but will travel statewide. Perry C. Page Memorial Endowed Internship Fund: This internship fund honors Perry Charles Page, a native of Sioux Falls, SD, and 1969 cum laude graduate of Augustana College. Mr. Page majored in math and business administration before earning his MBA from the University of South Dakota in 1970. He distinguished himself in commercial development in major cities across the United States, and throughout his life illustrated his passion for opportunity and education. Mr. Page is known for extending generous bipartisan support to individuals and groups, young and old. Augustana College, through support from Sally Ann Page, continues his legacy through a scholarship offering intern study in locations that broaden student perspectives and enrich future generations. Criteria: the fund will be used to pay internship tuition for one Augustana College undergraduate student per year, covering tuition for up to four credits of internship hours. Augustana College sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a GPA of at least 2.5 and with at least one semester remaining before graduation are eligible to apply, the internship experience must be at least 250 miles from Sioux Falls, SD. Applicants must complete and submit the application form to the Augustana College Financial Aid Office by February 5. Printed forms are availabe in the Augustana College Financial Aid Office as well as Career Center and online pdf is also available through the Career Center website. Applications will be considered by the Perry C. Page Memorial Endowed Internship Committee, a team of four individuals appointed by the academic dean, to include three faculty members and the director of the Career Center. The director of the Career Center will be a permanent member of the committee. After the first two years, faculty members will serve staggered 1-3 year terms as indicated by the Academic Dean in his/her appointment. Applicants will be judged on academic merit, relevance to future career goals, financial need and demonstrated personal growth. The Perry C. Page Memorial Endowed Internship Committee will recommend to the Financial Aid Scholarship Committee by March 1 one student to be considered for this award. This person should be available to begin service in June of 2010 for a term of two years.
