The following grades are used in the evaluation of academic achievement:

C+ 2.3

C- 1.7
D+ 1.3
D 1.0
D- 0.7
F 0.0

U, I, V grades earn
neither grade points,
nor credit hours
S-U Satisfactory (C- and above)
Unsatisfactory (D+ and below)
No quality points (not used in calculation of GPA)*
I Incomplete
IP Course in Progress
VS Indicated on the transcript for a scuccessfully completed audit
VU Indicated on the transcript for an unsuccessful audit

*Two courses (maximum of 8 credit hours) which are normally graded A-F. This includes courses take as electives. Courses within a student's major or minor may not be taken S-U unless a department permits it.

*The following courses are always graded S-U:

  • CEEL Seminar
  • GOVT 100
  • SOWK 226
  • New Student Seminar
  • Student Teaching
  • Practicum

*The following courses may be graded S-U:

  • COMM 095
  • ENGL 095
  • HPER 100-119
  • MUSI 095
  • Interim courses when student option is designated
  • Internships
