To use toys and games to create a safe
and fun learning environment for infants and parents
To teach parents how to safely interact with their infant in the
water
To provide guidelines for parents to follow with their infant in
the water
Toddler
1 (2-3 years of age)
To acclimate the toddler to the water
using games and toys
To find comfort in & around the pool
To provide experience in group swimming situations
Toddler
2 (3-4 years of age)
Students will gain confidence with aquatic activities
To learn motions associated with locomotion through water
Students will become comfortable with splashing and getting faces
wet
Preschool
1 (3-5 years of age)
Students comfortable in the water will work towards independence
To submerge, 3 second float, and jump in to instructor
To independently move in the water
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Toddler 2 or comfort
with face in water and supported floats
Preschool
2 (3-5 years of age)
To practice and refine basic swimming skills
To gain control of breathing
Students will be able to utilize flutter kick (on front and back)
with three different arm motions
Prerequisite: Successful completion
of Preschool 1 or ability to completely submerge, 3 second float,
and propel self through the water
