Chrissy is starting her first year as Hall Director of Bergsaker. Chrissy is pursuing a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in Non-Profit Management through the University of Nebraska. After earning her Bachelor's in writing from Minnesota State University, Mankato, she traveled in the UK and Ireland and within the US. Later, she served a year as an Americorps VISTA member at Southwest Minnesota State University, where she helped build what is now the Civic Engagement Office. Most recently, Chrissy spent two years coordinating volunteer programs and an internship program for Children's Home Society and Children's Inn in Sioux Falls.
Joining her living on campus are her husband, Adam, and their daughter, Zoey, born in June 2007. Proud parents, they tell everyone that their daughter is an overachiever because she is already "at Augustana" (although she is not yet a year old). They grow up so fast!
Chrissy is most excited to work with her staff, build a great team, and get to know the students at Bergsaker. In her spare time, she likes to be with her family, camp, listen to music, volunteer through her church, and tutor adult learners through the Sioux Empire Literacy Council. She also talks a lot about "getting really into biking", but at this point, it's really all talk, no action.

(SO) Edina, MNWhat has been a highlight of your being at Augustana?
How much I have grown and matured as a person in this first year. I feel as though I was stretched in every area of my life and am now better as a result.
Favorite campus activity?
I love intramurals! It helps that lots of free stuff is given away, but really, I just enjoy sports. Staying active and the fun that comes intramurals.
Favorite commons meal?
Breakfast - waffles, the cereal mostly, because I never get so many "bad" cereals at home. (We call the "good" cereal the cereal that is good for you and "bad" cereal the good, sugary, kind)
Why did you apply to be on Residence Life Staff and what are you looking the most forward to with your floormates next year?
I applied because I wanted to be available for people if they needed me for anything: talking, laughing, arguing, encouragement, the smack down, anything. I am looking forward to being the best PA these freshmen will ever see, which will make freshman year bearable!

I applied to be a residence life staff so I could become an influence to other people, someone to look up to. What are your summer plans?
I'm doing a lot of traveling this summer to Europe, and I am also doing some bike rides, on across Iowa, and I did the tour de kota across South Dakota.
