I am a graduate student at SDSU. Since my undergraduate years I have worked in the education field as a teacher and coach. I’ve also held positions in the aquatic safety and service industries. When I complete graduate school I intend to apply my counseling degree towards student development. To me, being involved in the decision making process at the collegiate level is a great opportunity.
I am most looking forward to the chance to reacquaint myself with the college environment. The students at East Hall will be the center of that focus. Working with the Peer Advisors to meet the students’ needs will be a rewarding pursuit. I also look forward to the other aspects of Augustana. From the sporting events to the Boe Forum, I anticipate an active schedule.
What has been a highlight of your being at Augustana?
My highlight of being at Augustana has been the friendships I have forged. The friendly community makes all other experiences that much more enjoyable.
Favorite campus activity?
My favorite campus activity are the intramurals. I love being able to play sports and hang out with friends through that activity. Viking Days is a close second though.
Favorite commons meal?
My favorite commons meal is probably quesadillas but you can never go wrong with a bowl of cereal.
Why did you apply to be on Residence Life Staff and what are you looking the most forward to with your floormates next year?
I am excited to be on Res Life for a 3rd year. It has been such an enjoyable experience the previous two years. I want to do all I can to give back to the Augustana Community. I look forward to serving in East Hall this year and create new friendships with the hall members.
What has been a highlight of your being at Augustana?
Meeting so many new people and making so many friends in such a short period of time.
Favorite campus activity?
Any intramural is always fun, especially those in the Dog Eat Dog competition, which I hope to win again this year.
Favorite commons meal?
Rice and chicken teriyaki with pumpkin pie for dessert.
Why did you apply to be on Residence Life Staff and what are you looking the most forward to with your floormates next year?
I applied for a second year so I could be a part of another great staff and I am looking forward to building new friendships and maintaining old ones (I am also looking forward to another Dog Eat Dog championship).
