The Student Activities Office, a department within the Dean of Students Office, has administrative responsibility for student organizations, student programming boards, student leadership training programs, and campus-wide special events such as New Student Orientation, Viking Days Homecoming Week, and Family Weekend.

The Office serves as a primary source of information and advice about co-curricular opportunities and resources. The Director of Student Activities assists students in becoming involved in campus life, conducts leadership development programs, provides continuity for organizations from year to year, educates students about college policies, mediates disputes, advises event planners, and helps students put classroom learning into practice through the techniques of experiential education.
