Membership
- It is important to realize that there are no “members’ and “non-members.” Our leadership team exists to serve all students outside of leadership.
- In order to more effectively fulfill our purpose statement and reach even more “non-members, our ministry will be divided into 3 teams, as described below.
- Weekly Meeting Team- Students will be continually invited to be a part of a positive Christian community, engaged by speakers, and offered many opportunities to attend conferences and projects. Everyone is welcome, and it is in fact a priority to invite new people.
- Small Group Team- Students will be invited to deepen relationships with each other by discussing unlearning about the Christian faith in a small group atmosphere. The small groups are open to all students.
- Evangelism/Follow Up Team- The goal is to reach out to every student, meeting with those who express desire to grow in their faith, training others to be open about their beliefs, and holding events to attract certain groups of students.
Leadership Structure and Transitions
- Our team is composed of 21 leaders divided up into 3 teams, including a core leadership team of 6 people (2 from each team).
- Near the beginning of spring semester, the current core leaders of each team will begin looking for potential leaders to assume leadership responsibility. These potential core leaders are invited to join leadership based on leadership skills exhibited and level of commitment to the mission of Cru.
- Other members of each leadership team are selected through an application process. Applications are turned in prior to Spring break, and leaders are selected during the first two weeks of April.
- Leadership training and preparation occurs in May for the leadership team of the following year.
Meeting Schedule and Procedures
- Each leadership team meets weekly to discuss the upcoming week.
- Core leadership team meets about once a month to assess ministry functions, goals, budget concerns, and future planning. This serves to keep the separate teams united as one organization.
- If amendments to the constitution or organizational structure need to be made, the core leadership team can decide to make such modifications
- Large group gatherings and small group Bible studies meet weekly and are open to all students.
