Article I:
The name of this organization shall be El Club Espanol.

Article II:
The purpose of El Club Espanol shall be: to make student aware of the diversity of the Sioux Falls community and surrouding areas; to provide the opportunity for every student to learn and improve his/her knowledge of the Spanish language and culture; and to promote ethnic and cultural difference evident in and around the Augustana College community.

Article III:
El Club Espanol shall be open to any Augustana College student: full-time, part-time or non-traditional. The only requirement is a desire to expand his/her understanding of different cultures.

Article IV:
There shall be three offices: President, Vice-President, and Secretary/Treasurer. Elections will be held in May of each year. Terms begin September of the following school year and run through May of that school year. There shall be no limit as to the number of times a student may hold an office. The faculty advisor shall facilitate elections. Following is a description of the offices:

President: The President shall preside over meetings. The President shall initiate regular club meetings and other activities.

Vice-President: The Vice-President shall preside over meeting in the absence of the President. The Vice-President shall be a liaison between El Club Espanol an the Augustana College and Sioux Falls Communities.

Secretary/Treasurer: The Secretary/Treasurer shall record minutes at the regular club meetings and distribute copies to the members of the club via e-mail. He/she must also notify members of upcoming meetings. The Scretary/Treasurer shall control the finances of El Club Espanol. This includes collection of dues and control of purchase orders. The Secretary/Treasurer must keep the faculty advisor informed of all activities.

Amendment I:
Elections will be held via e-mail in April without the facilitation of the faculty advisor.

Amendment II:
Offices may change based on El Club Espanol’s needs. Changes will occur at the discretion of present officers.

Article V:
Meetings will be held bimonthly on a scheduled determined at the start of the school year.

Article VI:
Article may be amended with the majority consent of the officers. The faculty advisor must approve all changes to the Constitution of El Club Espanol.

Article VII:
Meetings will be informal. They will be in an open forum format: members will be encouraging d to share ideas. There will be regular officers meetings held at the discretion of the officers.

Article VIII:
The faculty advisor shall: provide resources, guidance, and answers to questions; approve and sign purchase orders; be a faculty liaison between other departments and administration. There shall be no limit to the duration of this position.
