Bylaws of the Augustana Kong Su Do Club

Article 1: Name
The name of this organization shall be the Augustana Kong Su Do (Korean Karate) Club.

Article II: Object
The object of this chapter shall be to provide the opportunity for Augustana students and faculty to learn Kong Su DO. Any student is eligible.

Article III: Chief Instructor
The chief instructor will be Brian Wienk of Sioux Falls.

Article IV: Duties of the Instructor (s)
The duties of the instructor is to teach the philosophy and self-defense techniques of Kong Su Do. If at any event, questions arise about the operation of the club or the instructor, a group meeting composed of all Kong Su Do students will convene to resolve said question. At this meeting, the advisor (Mark Hecht) will be asked to preside.

Article V: Membership
Membership will be available exclusively to all Augustana Students. Members of Martial Arts Clubs from the surrounding community will also be allowed to participate.

Article VI: Officers
Secretary. This individual will take notes at any meetings held by the Kong Su Do club. Basic Coordinators. These individuals will be in charge of informing the club members of upcoming meetings, testing, and any other activities that the Augustana Kong Su Do club is taking part in. These individuals will also be in charge of calling the other members of the club when upcoming events are going to occur. Treasurer. All of the financial records and business will be the responsibility of this individual. Advertisement Coordinator. 1.) Make advertisement flyers at the beginning of the year and put them around campus. 2.) At the beginning of the year organize the booth to represent the Kong Su DO club at the activities fair. 3.) Advertise one to two weeks before testing.

Article VII: Faculty Sponsor
The Augustana Kong Su Do club’s advisor is Mark Hecht who will serve until he or the Kong Su Do club deems otherwise.

Article VIII: Meeting and Attendance Policy
Meetings shall be held twice per week every week school is in session. Special meetings may be called by the chief instructor or his representatives. Attendance, by officers, is required unless cleared ahead of time with the instructor or if extenuating circumstances exist. The policy of absence will, for the most part, be determined by each individual instructor.

Article IX: Dues
The amount of dues shall be determined by the club officers and chief instructor. Any increase in dues must be voted on by the club before being enacted. The required dues are 10 a month and 10 for testing and 15 for belt.

Article X: Amendments
These Bylaws may be amended as deemed by the Augustana Kong Su Do Club by majority. The advisor and chief instructor will count as on vote each. The governing body of the ASA will be informed immediately of any changes.
